Fee Schedule
Effective 6/2009
A check to cover the horse’s first month’s fees at the rate corresponding to the service desired must accompany the horse upon arrival.
Board: Full: $225/month ($10/day) Pasture: $175 ($7/day)
Full board includes a dedicated stall, feed (mineral salts, grain and hay), stall cleaning, and turn-out weather permitting.
Pasture board includes 24/7 turn out with access to pasture and a run in shelter with hay in the winter. Horses that require grain in the winter to maintain condition will be increased to the price of full board for the duration of time that they require grain.
Use of the outdoor arena and barn facilities is included in board cost whether full or pasture.
Training: $525/month (includes board)
Each horse is an individual. Progress will vary by horse. Typically, a young horse will progress from completely untrained to rideable by an experienced rider in the first 30 days. Occasionally, a young horse may need more than 30 days to be ‘rideable’; however, this is the exception rather than the rule. “Problem” horses that have been confused by previous training may need more time to become confident with new skills and to ‘unlearn’ old behaviors. I use natural horsemanship methods to teach your horse what is expected of him/her. I do not ‘break’ horses. Mutual respect and trust is essential to the long term happiness of your horse. I encourage and expect you to be involved in the training of your horse. This involvement ensures your continued success after you bring your horse home. Basic lessons for you on your horse are included in the training cost.
Transportation: $1.50 per mile. $50.00 minimum.
