Finey is our 1996 Simeon Shai bred gelding. He was born on the farm–in the garage, before the barn was built–right after moving here from North Carolina. He has been everyone’s riding buddy, and has sired a couple of colts before being gelded.

My pretty Katie brushing Finey one night after we fed everyone. Finey is 15HH and Katie’s 10. This picture was taken with my BlackBerry so it’s not exactly perfectly composed! The family gelding, Infinetly Fine — AKA ‘Finey’ was my first every ‘high bred’ Arabian horse. He was born here on the farm–in the garage before we had the barn built. We moved from North Carolina to Indiana in May of 1996. He was born about 2 weeks after we arrived. His dam was an Ansata Omar Halim daughter and his sire is Infinity (Simeon Shai x Tomboy). We had planned to keep him as a herd sire, but Finey had a bit of an issue with being nice as a stallion. Gelding him made him the sweetest boy in the world! Now, he’s my trail horse. I had planned to use him as an endurance mount but raising kids got in the way of training so I’ve just used him as a pleasure horse on the trails instead. He’s a real babysitter and will be my 10 year old daughter’s mount in the future (isn’t that how it always goes?? When you train horses, everyone else gets to ride the BROKE ones while you get stuck riding everything that needs tuned up!)

Ok, you win! Back to the wither scratches.

Gotta get your butt shiney too Finey!
