Galimir has been with me since age two. This year, she turns 18–and still acts like a young mare! 16 years have flown by with this wonderful mare on the farm. She has done it all: horse shows, competitive trail riding, pleasure trail riding, fabulous broodmare, the ‘pony ride’ mare during family get togethers, and lesson horse…If I could use only one word to describe Gal it would be “talkative”. She is the nicker queen and loves to talk to everyone who comes by her. If you ‘forget’ to scratch her on the way past she will step in front of your path and quietly nicker like a mare does when talking to her foal while she nuzzles your hand in a gentle reminder that ‘Her Highness’ requires a scratching. Galimir’s 2009 baby by JohnBoy arrived on May 23rd. We are thrilled with this colt!
Galimir has had five foals to date:
WOA Ravens Premier+ – (x black/white tobiano paint stallion) 1997 Bay, Half-Arabian gelding. “Ranger” earned a Top Ten (7th) at the 2008 National Competitive Trail Riding Finals!!! NEWS FLASH! Ranger has now earned his THIRD Top Ten as he went 5th at the 2009 AHA Nationals in AA/HA CTR!
WOA GotchaGirl – (x RA Apache (to Windfortune)) 1998 purebred bay Arabian mare. She is currently competing in Endurance.
WOA Galiant Lad (x Infinetly Fine (x Infinety (Simeon Shai x Tomboy) x Ansata Omar Halim daughter) – 1999 purebred chestnut Arabian gelding. He is still in the family and has been a pasture buddy.
2008 Buckskin 1/2 Arabian filly (x GoodNight JohnBoy) – A Half Arabian beauty with a lot of chrome like mama. Unfortunately, this beauty died shortly after birth.
Golden Phoenix PA (x GoodNight JohnBoy) – 2009 Buckskin Half Arabian colt. “Nicky” is slated to be the future sire here at Phoenix Acres, this little guy entered the world early in the morning on May 23, 2009. Check him out HERE
