My Napoleon Complex??  Where on earth did they come up with that name??

We brought Napoleon to the farm as an un-named yearling colt.  He was a Christmas gift for Jay so that Jay could learn (city guy that he was) to work with a colt/stallion that wasn’t so large that he would get hurt.  Still believing that horses behave like dogs, he had a LOT to learn!

Jay wasn’t too sure of the colt when he arrived–he was a spoiled, undisciplined wild child when he first arrived here and nothing like the other horses.  Nonetheless, true to Jay’s style of pampering the animals, he lavished attention and treats on the colt. The colt was so short that he could only tip his nose over the top of the drop down window of the stall door.  Jay decided that he needed to be able to see out of the stall instead of doing that little ‘one eyed peak’ over the edge.

Enter: the famous tarp wrapped bale of straw!  Yes, Jay provided Napoleon with a ‘step stool’ — and he earned his name; Napoleon…

Napoleon is essentially a pet, however if things work out, Napoleon’s job will be to sire beautiful Half Arabian hunter ponies.  He moves BEAUTIFULLY with lots of action.

We will be offering Napoleon for breeding to outside mares this year with a breeding fee of $100.
